Don't miss the action: young Earth creationism (YEC) vs. theistic evolution. Included are the entire debate (Dec-5-04) or excerpts (MP3), photos, commentary and links (including links to Callahan's letter to Hovind and Hovind's radio response, Aug-26-04, MP3).

See the Hovind/Callahan debate link at Faith & Reason Ministries, http://www.faithreason.org/

Thanks, but I'll pass.

Hummm, does it appear the panel is stacked?
What are the odds that they hold prayer before the "debate"?

I like this link better

One can debate matters of opinion. One can not hold a debate on whether a room is filled with unicorns. One can not hold a debate on whether the moon is made of cheese. And rational people should not give any credibility to creationist garbage until such time as creationists have something other than "faith" to sell.

Here's a simple test of rational thinking to determine whether one is a true believer or a fraud just afraid to acknowledge the obvious.

A true believer believes that people talk to god and god talks to people. Thus a true believer will vote not-guilty, when empaneled on a jury, and the defendant says "Yes I tortured and killed those people but god told me to."

After all ... how could a true believer ... question an order given by god?

All that hot air must be contributing to global warming, don't you think?

Those who can, do; those who can't, teach others how to do; those who can do neither of the above argue about it.

Maybe these people need a lesson in practical science. Eight hours of de-tasseling corn to produce dihybrid crosses for next year's seed corn ought to cool them off. Getting up at 4 a.m. to start working at the "crackodon" to spend the day alternately drenched with cold morning dew or the sweat of one's brow is helpful in developing reasoning skills.
