It had already lost the status of being the fartherest for what ever it was decided it would be. xena is slightly larger and has all the same characteristics pluto has, save pluto has a moon. so either xena was going to be the farthest planet or pluto was going to get demoted. now they are both dwarf planets.

When I was a kid, there was a TV show called BRANDED, with Chuck Conners. He's a soldier, stripped of his rank, sword broken, and booted out of the army. I kind of envision a ceremony like that for Pluto.
