Steve Grand is an interesting man. He invented the Creatures computer game and made a quid. He now spends his time trying to create artificial consciousness - more recently with a cyborg called Lucy. His musings on the differences (if any) between what we consider "hardware" and "software" are quite fascinating although I'm sure they make traditional AI boffins throw up their hands.
