New Scientist has an article by John Hawks based on a symposium at a meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. It can be found at The Latest on Homo naledi

The article discusses the findings of the team which is investigating the fossils found in the Rising Star excavation. The report indicates that there are really more questions than answers. The physical characteristics of the fossils contain some things that are closer to modern and some that are closer to older forms, as we understand them now. They still don't know how old the fossils are.
