Another post on Phys.Org. In this one it is reported that restudying the age of the fossils of Homo floresiensis produced an age greater than first thought. The story can be found at Indonesian 'Hobbits' may have died out sooner than thought

Basically they revisited the site, where digging has continued since the original find, and determined that an error had been made in the original dating. The new dates show that the Hobbits died out around 50,000 years ago, instead of the previous estimate of from 11,000 to 18,000 years ago. This time is in reasonable agreement with the time at which modern humans arrived in the area. So that may be another species that died out because of the presence of modern humans.

blazingly fast sagg browsing made possible through windows
firewall... it only took apx 5 seconds to open the page and
log in and browse to this page and open the reply window...

I uhhh blocked all 9000 marketers tcp connections and that
did take all morning oops and part of the afternoon.

oh and that's interesting about the hobbits , I like the books
and I have the videos.

wow , only 4 kbps is needed to browse sagg ...
and 5 tcp connections ... now this is more like 2016
and no where near the 1980's

sure beats waiting 2-3 minutes for every page to load up
and even the reply box was lagged out so bad that I had
to use notepad to make post and replies.

plus I have a sense of self control now that accompanies
the super fast browsing speeds I now have.

see , we don't need faster internet speeds we just need
less marketers stealing our paid for bandwidth.

and perhaps more web sites that are less willing to
allow the marketers to steal from their web site users.
