Norway is planning to build a Doomsday Bank Vault inside a mountain just 600 miles from the North Pole, next year. It will hold Seeds from all the worlds plant life, and be the worlds most secure seed gene bank.
The Seeds will be held below freezing point, inside thick walls of reinforced concrete, and blast proof doors. Its security assured by patrolling Polar Bears.
Countrys may deposit or take out seeds whenever they want to.

***Thoughts
It sounds like a good idea. Anyone have any thoughts upon other 'Doomsday items'?

Lets not let this get out into the popular press. They'll think it is about sperm donation.

"The store is designed to hold all the seeds representing the world's crops and is being built to safeguard future food supplies in the event of widespread environmental collapse."

I did not get a chance to read the entire article, but I just wonder how and where these guys/girls are planning to grow these seeds after a "widespread environmental collapse"?
