What if the Large Hadron Collider Finds Nothing Else?

Matt talks about that question with respect to previous experiments that didn't find anything. That includes the Michelson-Morley experiment. That one of course didn't find anything, but lead to Special and General Relativity. Basically if the LHC finds new particles that don't agree with the Standard Model or doesn't find particles that do agree with the Standard Model both outcomes open new areas of investigation, and possibly completely new approaches, just as MM lead Einstein to his theories.
