Ok, Now Matt has another one of his articles about field theory. This one is Quantum Field Theory, String Theory and Predictions (Part 8). In this one he starts to discuss String Theory. He starts out by discussing exactly what a theory is, then generalizes that to particle theories, then string theories. This post basically covers some of the early history of String Theory, with it successes and misses. It runs up to the 1990s and will be continued in future posts. Bill Gill
