The Worlds first Test Tube Hamburger grown from the Stem cells of a cow, will be served up in a London restaurent later this week.
It will show how the soaring global demand for protein can be met without the need for vast herds of cattle.

Just One Cow could feed a million people?

Plus a £-million prize for producing artificial Chicken meat.

Wait until they discover it has to have foetal calf serum to grow in, and you can guess how that is produced. You still need the cow to grow the pseudo-meat, foetal calf serum is part of the growth medium for these cells. Unless they have been able to synthesize a substitute for it, these pseudo-meat "burgers" are going to take a lot of calf serum.

thanks R2

Wiki says that the serum is drawn from the calf fetus at the slaughter house in a closed system.

I suppose if you dont think of a calf fetus as being a future cow then you might think that 1 cow would feed a million people.

Mike, maybe you should have said that

1 cow + 1 million calf fetuses could feed a million people.

I think that this is simply another means of taking yet another source of income away from the un-rich people of the world.

they can claim its to lower carbon levels if they choose , but
in the end where the bottom line is , its all about who gets
the money.

lets wait and see if they will produce the test tube meat
at a loss so that they can help the world.

LOL

BTW

if the meat that they sell is not labeled , then I will just stop buying beef and any product that contains beef products.

in fact now I think I will check to see if I am already buying
any thing that is linked to this type of meat production and if
I am , then I will stop buying that.

one person has no vote that counts , unless it is counted with
the other people who vote , I vote with my money.

that thing that rolls around every year that is supposed to be
the way that you vote for things by voting for people is nothing more than a waste of time.'
