I wrote that Omega-3 is unsafe...because US doctors have told us not to panic.
Yet they write that the Omega-3 Fatty Acid Fish Supplement now causes cancer.

Many years ago Doctors and Scientists were unanimous in
suggesting we should be adding the fatty acid, Omega-3 to our diet.
As a health promoting, brain building, anti-athritic and joint lubricant, preventing strokes,
and an anti-cancer agent.

But shock horror..... American Scientists in a recent study have found that
if you take a tiny amount of Omega-3 every day
....it increases your risk of getting Cancer by 70%.!
Men are particually prone to getting prostate cancer.

Every time I hear science says.... and then it reverses its claims because the world and the people in it went beyond the lab and peer review, I think of thalidomide. Must be a deep stress. Kinda like Orac has with religion.

Mike, now going on 84, I write as one who, years ago, was told by medical-doctors and so-called "EXPERTS": "Rev King, you have prostate cancer." The "experts" recommended RADIATION therapy--numerous sessions.

However, after refusing to undergo many sessions of radiation therapy--so called, I am still alive and well.

Meanwhile, several of my friends, who had the radiation therapy had several negative and serious other health problems. HMMM!


Now you tell us,I repeat: Now going on 84, I am still alive and enjoying life.

Your interesting post prompts many questions:

Without name, blaming and shaming anyone, may I ask the scientists at SAGGO, "Who can we trust?"

Congratulations Revlking, there can't be too many people of your age who are literate enough to write as you do on a Computer, the subject you are very knowledgable about.
Even more difficult when its written in a Science Forum.

Well, Doctors being Doctors have their own thinking agendas,
Some believe in the knife, other suggest Radiation therapy,
still others suggest, adopting a complete change of life, by eating and living a 'Back to Nature Lifestyle'

Most men eventually suffer prostate problems as they get older,
but its not necessary a cancer. The prostate gland enlarges and restricts the uthera's flow.

My own peculiar thoughts on a 'Back to nature Lifestyle are':- Lets assume EVERYBODY eats the same good clean chemical free food, and lived in the same style
Then most people will live their prescribed three score years and ten, others would live less long, while others would live longer.
So if everybody lived and ate the same, the differences in life spans, must be Genetic?

Of course everyone is subject to a different input since birth...so the answer is academic.
But if you didn't overdose on any particular item, including
food, and live a clean simple life, I suppose that should ensure you live your life as long as possible?
Although there are a number of people who would question the above sentence as to whether you really are living, and enjoying your life to the full.
By the way, do you still drive, or have you given up driving recently?
Thats a posed question, which often shows others, how physically fit and alert you are.

THANX MIKE! My wife, 84, and I--almost the same age-- are both "ROADS" Scholars. We have to takes tests every two years--beyond 80.

Yesterday, I did a funeral--second one for the same family--in downtown Toronto--and drove through heavy traffic. NO PROBLEM, thank G~0~D!
