One More Homo Species? Analysis Confirms Status of Homo Floresiensis as Fossil Human Species

The title pretty much tells it all. The authors of the paper that is being reported on did a detailed comparative analysis between the skull of Homo Floresiensis and skulls of modern humans, including diseased humans, and the skulls of fossil humans. The analysis is said to conclusively show that the H. Floresiensis skull does not match any modern humans skulls, but does share many characteristics with those of other fossil humans.

I expect that some people will continue to argue against the idea, but it looks more and more as if the Hobbit really was a primitive hominin. Of course this doesn't tell us much about the Hobbits ancestry. It could be a dwarfed H. Erectus, or it could be separately evolved from a more primitive ancestor.
