Matt Strassler has a new article on his blog discussing where the masses of the Proton and Neutron come from. It is very interesting if you can figure it out. It turns out to be quite complex.

So far, I have read this article only once and, in spite of having come across most of the ideas elsewhere in Matt Strassler's blog, I shall need more than one reading.

Of course, there is the advantage that, time permitting, he does answer questions.

Well, if you didn't quite get it from that article just wait. He is going to do a couple of more articles that explain it in even greater detail. That will probably make us have to think even more. I think that it is a matter of the fact that QM is stranger than almost any body thinks.
