How to make a Military Tank Invisible.
Seems this was scienc fiction yesterday, but not today?

The British Research Development have painted a tank with a special silicon paint and fibre. By taking a movie-photo from a camera mounted on the back of the tank, and projecting the same scene using a laser projector mounted on the gun barrel onto the front of the tank. Results in anyone facing the tank has great difficulty in seeing it.

**My thoughts,
Seems they forgotten about Radar, and heat seeking missiles?

Not necessarily. The enemies they are likely to have may not have that kind of technology.

Then there's always the "friendly fire" angle!

I have just remembered. There were times during the WW2, that
our tanks were deliberately made and placed to be seen.
These were.....
'Blow up Rubber Tanks' were placed in strategic places to keep the enemy away.
They must have been very helpful, because rubber was very very short during WW2.
'Blow ups' were used in the Vietnam War and they are still used by the Russians today.
Modern 'Blow ups' have an internal metalized lining to fool Air Radar.

Welcome Mark,
All the rubber 'Blowup Tanks and Aircraft were setup along the British coast to make the 'Jerry' believe we had more weapons than we did.
Make them think twice about invasion plans.
They were there so that the German pilots could visually see them and report back that info.
I dont think any aircraft had onboard Radar during the 2nd W War? I could be wrong.
Britih ground RADAR was big heavy and trucklike
The 3Mark 6 had a rotating scrubbing board antennae, and the 4Mk 7 was a 10 cm radar with a dish antennae, a longer range, more modern.

Had 'Jerry' had aircraft Radar, it would not have reflected off the rubber tanks, and our clever 'game' would have been sussed.
In modern warfare today complete metallized rubber aerodromes with planes have been deployed to fool the enemy.

Interestingly that would not be used in Israel today.?
It is known that they only have one civil airport and one military airport...they keep their military planes on the edges of fields, and use the highways for takeoff and landings in a national emergency.
