Ok this is quite funny I have been conned after a few beers to help with an exercise to visualize 3D space pressure.

The story goes like this students have trouble visualizing what spacetime pressure looks like as represented by GR.

The classic image we show looks like (http://www.ws5.com/spacetime/162571main_GPB_circling_earth3_516.jpg)

My friend saw myth busters playing around with a ruben's tube which has always been cool

and was inspired by
http://www.lyrics5.com/videos.html?vid=5HthMZpDeBc

The thing about the tube is it gives you a way to visualize how standing sound waves become pressure waves in a static cylinder.

What my nutcase friend wondered could we build a model which works more like space so a 3D bladder with holes and inject the sound and what the result would look like with a floppy vibrating bladder.

My guess is something like fig 7. in (http://intellagence.eu.com/acoustics2008/acoustics2008/cd1/data/articles/001005.pdf)

You people are important witnesses to this because there is a carton of beer riding on the result and given the lack of our safety procedures set for this weekends testing and we have full bottles of gas, many different bladders, matches but not a clue whats going to happen I am taking these steps.

Should I die in a flaming ball of fire I want it recorded that I was on the verge of solving the theory of everything. Nooone will be able to prove differently as all my notes were burnt with me as you guys will support (wink).

Should I survive the weekend I should have some cool photos to show and if they don't look like my predicted fig 7 then the wind must truely have influenced the result .. right (wink).
