from 1920 to 1929 !
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservatism_in_the_United_States
Quote:
1920s
Conservative Republicans returned to dominance in 1920 with the election of President Warren G. Harding, who called for a return to "normalcy." Tucker (2010) argues that the 1924 election marked the "high tide of American conservatism," as both major candidates campaigned for limited government, reduced taxes, and less regulation. A third-party candidate on the left won only 17% of the vote, as Calvin Coolidge scored a landslide.[89] Under Coolidge (1923–29) the economy boomed and the society was stabilized by moving to Americanize the immigrants already here, and not allowing many more in.

And almost exactly as above the gw bush Presidency caused the economy to boom , then fall like a lead zepplin.

Quote:
The Great Depression which followed the 1929 stock market collapse led to price deflation, massive unemployment, falling farm incomes, investment losses, bank failures, business bankruptcies and reduced government revenues. Herbert Hoover's conservative protectionist economic policies failed to halt the depression, and in the 1932 presidential election, Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt won a landslide victory.

When Roosevelt tried to bring the country out of depression and ease the plight of the unemployed with the New Deal, conservatives fought him every inch of the way.

throughout American history republicans have brought the U.S. to a ruined state that appears non reparable then a Democrat steps in and repairs the ruins that republicans bring to our nation.

we have just went through practically the same thing that occured in 1929 because of republican politics durring the
gw bush Presidency.

History , learn from it or perish in it.

Total employment in the U.S. from 1920 to 1940, excluding farms and WPA.

Sure it's way off topic. But how about an employment graph for the past 100 years showing which party was in power? Then we can see if there's any clear correlation or you're just cherry picking one case that suits you.

It's a worry if you had to go back that far to find one example supporting your idea. Nothing more recent?

I cant find a 100 yr employment graph , they mostly seem to be unemployment graphs.

I suppose this is because a employment graph would tell the story of just how bad free trade has been for the U.S.

because a unemployment graph only counts those on unemployment.

not the millions who havent found or inherited a job since they were dropped by the unemployment graphs because their benefits ran out.

but Im sure that those who are no longer on the unemployment graphs are now on the welfare or social security graphs.

so they are on some type of graph.

and the republicans want to remove even more jobs from the employment base in the U.S. I find it really funny how the republicans create a problem , then they complain about how bad the problem is.

and then they blame the problems they created on Democrats.
