The French/NASA Satellite Jason 2, has succesfully gone into orbit.
Its prime job is to measure the Worlds Sea heights to better than 1 cm?.
It is now in orbit, following behind Jason 1. The two satellites combined laser spot readings, will then give very accurate measurements of sea heights around the World.
However it will be some months before Jason 2's instruments are accurately calibrated.
Lets hope its final calibration readings are glitch free.
