Hurry up?

Long overdue?

A good start, but pick up the pace?

Too little, too late?

Wishful thinking?

Boondoggle?

But would like to ask few question...
Is there any public information on the safety aspects of the fusion reactor?
What are chances of an accident happening?
If it happens can it be contained and how?
What is the measure of expected Maximum possible damage if all the safety measures fail?

Why is it that so much money is thrown at "traditional" fusion research and very little at desktop-type fusion (cavitation etc)? Am I missing something here? Are they different sorts of fusion?

Controlled hot fusion is refinement of military nuclear bomb hydrodynamics codes for weapons simulation. Aside from a long list of arcane stupidities for having hot fusion be the thermal source of a powerplant... only a madman, a crook, or a Black Ops liar puts 4 degrees kelvin superconductor windings hard by a 100 million degree kelvin high pressure plasma spewing 5 MeV neutrons and hard photons.
