I would like to take this opportunity, as it does relate to physics and astronomy, to announce that my step-daughter was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and will spend 2008 working as a professional astronomer in Brazil.

Congratulations Anne.

Congrats Dan & Anne.

Why not point her in the direction of SAGG and get her to set up a thread and use it as a diary to let us know what she is up to for the year.

It would make fascinating reading.

Hi DA,

I felt the same way when my daughter got her M.Sc. in library science. She is pushing 40 now and has had a really great career. She has made me very proud and I can appreciate how you might feel. Our children really have some surprises for us! You haven't seen anything yet - the best part is still down stream.

By the way I haven't been contributing lately as I have taken on a sick colleagues teaching duties. I was supposed to be retired, but I can't seem to put it down.
