I think I heard that NOVA is looking into glaciers tomorrow night (Tue. Dec. 12,'06). I think I heard them say they would be diving into the core of a glacier.
I've seen a show where someone is measureing "quakes" on a glacier (to see when an ice dam might break?). Maybe this is a repeat of that, but maybe it's new. Anyone know???

Tuesday Night Must See TV.

Charlie Rose interviews Lou Dobbs tonight also. If you want to get scared....

Just think about how climate change fits into Dobbs' clear comprehensive view of the world.

In Glacier Diving, I noticed that it now takes longer for the dye to travel the length of the glacier.
I think that would be true if he glacier were more "swiss cheesy" (more and smaller channels to flow thru).
Amazing that so long ago they drilled drainage channels under the glacier. Doesn't that mean this is not a typical glacier to study (though better than none)?

Hmmmm, well my PBS stations are not synchronized anymore. So while I enjoyed Lou Dobbs at lunch, tonight I enjoyed Lisa Randall(?) -String Theory, and E. O. Wilson talk about his new book, "Creation," in which he asks evangelists to help save the planet from loss of biodiversity (climate change included).

Another "Must See,"

Have a look at this. Henry Hudson was 500 years too early searching for the Northwest Passage.
