BELLATOR:

You have established a new record and a new depth for the delivery of off the cuff wording.

I doubt any one will like it.

the more man learns, the more he realises, he really does not know anything.

The Bible is the infallible word of God. It is historically, scientifically, philophically, theologically, and archeologically correct.

The Babble has some things that are true, some that are beautiful, some that are wise. It also has enough that is false, ugly, and stupid there's no way I can believe it's inspired by any true god.

Religion is what people resort to when they are ignorant.

Tim and Taye:

I respect your beliefs. Even so, it is important to keep logic in the forefront. How do you make the conclusion that the bible is the 'word of God'. You are creating a god that is still in its childhood. The only way, as I see it, to give the people that wrote the bible credit for anything is to acknowledge the stuff they tried to hide in the bible for their private secrets to feel superior to the rest of the know nothings. I will not belabor the issue. Give some thought to relaxing your convictions.

I respect their right to have their belief but I've no respect for the belief itself. Nor would I have respect for the brainwashing of children to pray to the invisible purple rhinoceros.

The problem here is that if one looks at actions rather than words one can easily put together a piece of paper with two columns. Column (A) contributions to humanity from theologians and contributions to humanity from scientists.

In column A I can put providing aide to those damaged by other people influenced by (A). Witness Lebanon in the last month for a classic example.

In column B I can put safe drinking water, penicillin, electricity, and a pantheon of things without which none of the lives we live would be possible.

When a religion cures a disease I'll reconsider.
