All the roads of the World are paved with Asphalt that continuously 'wells up' from a seemingly inexaustible supply, from 'Tar Lake' in Trinidad.
That seems an amazing fact, when you first read about it. When you realise that the tar is mixed with sand and small stones to pave the roads, and is re-heated, mixed, and used over and over again does it become believable.
Sir Walter Raleigh first discovered the Pitch Lake in 1595, when it was used to caulk wooden ships. Its possible to walk upon parts of the lake in winter as long as you keep moving, lest you sink in.
Its been around for thousands, even millions of years, since Dinosaur bones have been found in it.
