I have invented (back in 1995) a device which
produces kinetic energy without need of any
fuel. It completely follows the laws of physics.
It wouldn't produce much power, but could be scaled to almost any size, and something the size
of a central heat/air unit could power a small home.

Having no means to develop the device, I am considering either giving it to the public domain
or selling it on Ebay to the highest bidder.

It DOES work. I have built a prototype, that when
fully assembled immediately began to produce a
spinning motion on 2 axels which could be harnessed via small DC motors. My prototype was
able to light a flashlight bulb and unfortunately
I was in such a hurry to make it I did a crappy
job and the thing broke itself. I later discarded
it to prevent anyone from stealing it from me.

I showed a simple 1-page sketch of the basic
concept to a college physics professor, who was
astounded and told me it would definitely work.
I am still surprised myself that no one else has
figured it out. I see all these silly ideas for
"perpetual motion" machines, and I laugh my ass
off. My device, if properly built from the right
materials, could last 1,000 years or more before
breaking. In fact, since the system is simple,
and completely sealed from the environment, it
could last potentially thousands of years....
The only thing that it would need is periodic
maintenance of the DC Motor-type generators which
would harness the kinetic energy of the device and
convert it into electricity. Those would of course be replaceable.

So...here's the delimma: do I release it free to
the world and continue to live lower-class, or
do I sell it to the highest bidder?
Hmmmm.....help the world, or help myself?
lol....tough one.

Uncle Al says, "I don't have a license to kill, but I do have a learner's permit." Time is homogeneous. Mass-energy is then locally conserved via Noether's theorem.

Perpetual motion machines

If you know you are an idiot, and we know you are an idiot, and each knows the other knows you are an idiot, why do you further pursue the point?

So you went to a college, good, but did you attend one, then dropout?
If you didn't, being a great success, if American, will be more difficult.

Post your design here for the great unwashed and save the world!!

You'll only get rubbed out by the secret service/global oil cartel/Haliburton/Club of Rome/Mysterious Black Helicopters if you keep it secret and try to make money out of it yourself.

Or instead of posting it, file a patent for it.

Pasti advised, "Or instead of posting it, file a patent for it."

Good advice, but beware. On all alleged machines that claim perpetual motion, or the production of energy with out an input source they will most likely require a working model before considering it for a patent. If you employ a patent attorney, easilly done, you may have fees for nothing if no patent issues. Some attorneys will accept a patent to issue for some small part or item in the make up of your device that will cost you more but be worthless as a source of protection. Ba sure your thingamajig works.

If you think I'm an idiot, it proves only 2 things:

1. You don't know me.
2. You have no idea whether or not my design works, so you have no room for name calling.

geesh, what a bunch of pricks......

You know, there once was a man who was called an idiot for thinking the world wasn't flat....

Understanding is hindered by failure to accept
that which disagrees with personal opinion.

At any rate, I didn't come here to be insulted, but to tell you all something which will soon be
public knowledge. I don't give a rat's ass about the economy, or humanity for that matter. I just want the corruption of the world to stop, and that partly requires the stopping of oil's grip on the economy.

Let em come for me, I'll be waiting.
And don't worry, I won't be coming back here.

Do not let people upset you or diminish your self esteem. You must expect that some response from some members may be unkind but that is their problem - not yours.

If you are sure you have something worth while to offer then no comment should suffice to deter you from your goal.

Hello Here I Am, The US patent office won't accept a patent for a perpetual motion device. My advice would be to draw it out and write a short story about how you came to inventing it. Describe exactly how it works and all information that you believe is relevant. Send it off to the copyright office and get a copyright on the written material. Tell them it's a book. At least this will give you some proof that the idea was original and when it was conceived.
Try running this by an attorney see what they say.

Here I Am, I also have a perpetual motion
idea I believe will work. I am trying to get
enough money together to design it, which
shouldn't be much. From what I've gathering
it won't take more than $100 to develop
a decent quality prototype. It's neat I found
this post, yesterday I began playing with an
OpenGL presentation of how it *should* work.
For the sake of the science community I hope
yours works or mine or both. I like chuckling
at the educated monkeys when they're proven
wrong.

The only motion in the universe that seems to be perpetual is attempts to defraud the gulliable.

Kate, Rose, Rusty ... this isn't science.

They're doing no harm. At least they're not trying to sell software. Some open discussion might help them keep from making big mistakes. If you don't like it don't post to it.

If a solicitation for $100 isn't selling ... what is?

I'm sorry, I didn't read it as a solicitation, there being no suggestion of paying the individual in question, merely the statement of a dollar amount as being the cost of materials. If I was asking for money I'd at least post an address. Don't read things into posts that aren't there.

ps. I deleted your duplicated post.
