Zythryn it is not just nitrates. It is also phosphates and numerous other nasties.

The simple solution, given the US produces far too much food, is to stop using so much and move more and more agriculture to so-called organic (how I hate this use of the word) farming.

Acre for acre it produces far more food and far more farm profit.
