I'm not quite sure how to look at these new findings. Obviously it makes some difference in what we might look for in regard to the origins of life, but it might just be a slight difference in time. Obviously if the surface of the Earth was mostly molten it would have been much more difficult for life to begin, but it it really wasn't that much hotter then life could have gotten started a little bit earlier.
